The POLY|C Newsletter
Welcome to the first edition of this newsletter! This is a good way for me to communicate directly with people who have a stake or interest in my work.
A few ground rules:
I’ll keep these short, I promise. No rambling. To the point, bottom line up front, TLDR-style updates only.
These won’t be frequent or spammy. Once a month, aiming for first Fridays.
Don’t feel obligated to remain on this email list. It won’t hurt my feelings one bit if you unsubscribe. Like you I’m a tough reader and if an article or post doesn’t interest me, I move on.
These updates will apply to projects I’m currently booked on or have finished. No speculating on the future.
I’ll include at least one of my sketches, photos or videos at the end of each newsletter.
Giant Void Updates
With that out of the way, I’m pleased to announce that my planned first feature film, Giant Void, has collected enough pledges to move forward. We’ve collected $152,000 in pledges for an adjusted $145,000 budget.
The goal of this project is two-fold: a) tell the story, obviously, and b) prove to the industry that I’m capable of directing a great feature film. If Giant Void gets picked up for distribution - theatrically or on streaming - that’s great. Ultimately it’s a project conceived and written to be a first feature film. It’s a calling card that says, “Imagine what this team could do with more money.” Everything has a modest start.
I’ll have updates next month on plans for fiscal sponsorships, a public crowdfunding campaign, and even grants to supplement the generous pledges made by our extended network.
And it’s not too late to make a pledge! Giant Void won’t be collecting real money until late 2022 / early 2023. Just email me at info@polyc.tv.
